Frequently asked questions
Deering Cleaners Downtown wants its customers and anyone moving to Indianapolis, Noblesville and Fishers to be well informed about our eco-friendly dry cleaning choices, services and savings.
What is dry cleaning? How do you clean my clothes without getting them wet?
Dry cleaning is any cleaning for clothing and textiles using a solvent other than water. Deering Cleaners Downtown uses brand name eco-friendly cleaning solvents for an exclusive dry cleaning process that replaces the petrochemical solvents traditionally used in dry cleaning. Our solvents are odorless, colorless solutions excellent for detergent and fabric care.
Should I attempt stain removal at home?
Probably not. Home remedies will place your garment at risk for making the stain worse or damaging the fabric. It's best to bring it into a professional. Our knowledgeable cleaners remove stains by understanding the type of material and the cause of the stain in order to gently remove the blemish.
How does your clothing drop off box work?
At all our store locations we have drop boxes for customers to drop off their items during non-business hours. Just ask one of our employees for a blue express bag in order to utilize this service.
What are your hours of operation?
Each store location in Indianapolis and Noblesville is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday. We are generally closed on national holidays. Our fee pickup and delivery services occur Monday to Friday for commercial properties, and routinely on Tuesdays and Thursdays for residential locations.
How do I know which of my garments can be dry cleaned?
All garments should be cleaned professionally once in a while to preserve fabric durability, bolster the color's vibrancy and brighten whites. But some garments can only be dry cleaned. You can know if your garment can be dry cleaned by reading the designers care label, usually sewed inside one of the seams.
Do you offer wedding dress preservation and wedding dress cleaning?
We do offer wedding dress preservation and wedding dress cleaning using treatments acquired from years of experience. Fabrics, laces, beads and sequins are cleaned in detail to help preserve your gown. Our wedding gown specialists carefully examine your gown to determine the most suitable method of cleaning and preservation. While usual wedding dress cleaning cannot protect or guarantee against oxidation or "yellowing," our advanced preservation system guarantees that your gown will stay as perfect as the day you wore it down the aisle. Your dress will be carefully sealed in an acid-free inner box that controls humidity, and our sealed packaging allows you to view your gown and veil at any time, while protecting the gown from mold, mildew, insect damage and oxidation.
How do your prices compare to the other dry cleaners?
Our prices are competitive in the Indianapolis and Noblesville dry cleaning market. We strive to keep prices for high-volume items like dress shirt and blouse dry cleaning the lowest in the city. Our service is 100% customer satisfaction, and our prices reflect this mission.
Where is Deering Cleaners Downtown located?
We have two store locations. One is downtown on the corner of Capitol Avenue and North Street at 602 N Capitol Ave, Indianapolis, IN. Our second locations is at 14753 Hazel Dell Xing, Noblesville, IN. We have drop off locations throughout the city at residential and commercial properties, and our Bizziebox lockers expand our services 24/7 for customers.
Do you do alterations? What is the turn-around time?
Yes. If it is too big or too small, torn or frayed, needing a slight adjustment or major repair, let our tailors make your outfits comfortable. We are pleased to complete your alterations in approximately one to three business days.
